George F. Handel wrote the Messiah in 1742. It has been performed somewhere in the world every year since then. It truly has stood the test of time since the music speaks the truth. The truth is the whole story of God’s good news; Christ’s birth, death, and resurrection. Here at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 200 N. Plum Grove Road in Palatine, on December 9, at 3:00 p.m. we are performing Part 1 of Handel’s Messiah, concluding with the Hallelujah Chorus. Our choir and guest soloists will sing with a live orchestra, and all are encouraged to Sing Along with us! We will have limited music books available. For those that just wish to listen to live music of the singers and orchestra will certainly move your heart and soul. Join us as we prepare for the celebration of Christ’s birth, the Savior of the World.
