Palatine’s Hometown Fest Independence Day Parade - July 1st, 2017
Immanuel family and friends enjoyed a beautiful and fun day marching in the Hometown Fest Independence Day Parade on July 1st. Our parade entry included participants from various groups including current students, parents, alumni, church members, American Heritage Girls and Trail Life Boys Troops.
The highlight was the 1936 vintage John Deere tractor. It was owned by former members Richard & Delores Glawe, and driven in Richard’s memory by his son, Warren. The tractor pulled a decorated wagon, displaying banners about our Blue Ribbon School and our upcoming Backpacks, Blessings, and Barbecue at the Band-shell event on August 13th.
Our volunteers (kids and adults) enjoyed passing out candy to the parade attenders. People lined both sides of the street throughout the entire parade route. Volunteers also distributed small American flags and information about Immanuel.
We are thankful for everyone who joined in the parade effort. They represented Christ our Lord, through Immanuel this year. We hope that our presence in the parade continues to show that Immanuel enjoys being an integral part of our Palatine community.
