The Community Meal

It’s more than a meal, it’s belonging.

Easter Brunch

Sunday, April 20, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 to 12:30 p.m.

Immanuel’s youth program is partnering with The Community Meal to provide a FREE Easter brunch!  There will be a free-will donation to support our youth in their trip to the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans this summer.

The menu is ham, egg, and cheese casserole, french toast casserole, crêpes with assorted fillings, sausage gravy over biscuits, assorted sweet breakfast breads, fresh fruit salad, and juices and coffee.

Eat in or take out.

The next Community Meal will be held on Thursday, May 8, from 5:00-6:15 p.m.  The menu is chicken milano over bow tie pasta, roasted vegetables, fruit, and dessert. Enjoy dinner and a show! The Immanuel Dance Ensemble will present their annual recital at 6:30 p.m. in the gym, following the Community Meal.

Help Needed!

Community Meal is looking for cooks, set up, servers, runners, and clean up to help with our meals. Get a group of family or friends together to help bring a meal together. Anyone needing service hours feel free to volunteer. There is a sign up at The Community Meal website or you can contact Denise Neilson at dneilson214@gmail.com or 224-829-2286 to sign up or if you have any questions.

What is the Community Meal’s mission?

“Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” – Romans 12:13

Our mission is to show Christian hospitality by providing a welcoming place, nourishing food, a listening ear, and acceptance to all regardless of faith beliefs or economic means. The simple act of sharing a meal together gives hope to the elderly, lonely and hungry. We strengthen friendships and inspire a community that will be inclusive and loving towards one another.
