On Friday, September 16, Immanuel hosted the Bobcat Scramble Golf Outing in memory of Richard Martin. Fifty-six golfers teed off in a 1 pm Shotgun Start at the Fox Lake Country Club. Golfers received nifty Swag Bags filled with golf and Immanuel-based promotional items to begin their round.
Competition was intense between the competing teams. With the aid of 10 feet of shot-improving string, the team of Paula and Tom Carmody paired with Kim and Jordan Abdel-Haq finished 18 under par and won the trophies as the top team. There were also winners in the Long Drive, Long Putt and Closest to the Hole on Par 3’s contests.
After the golf, the participants and guests enjoyed a catered dinner, and the prizes were awarded. Frozen premium steaks and four jewelry items were raffled to assist with the fundraising effort.
Thanks to the generosity of our Hole Sponsors and the Golfers, the event concluded with a profit of $6,036 for Immanuel Lutheran School Palatine.
Event organizers Sofie Dzik, Bill Rathe and John Koeneman hope to offer another golf outing in 2023. Information will be posted on the Immanuel website and news publications as soon as details are available.
