This summer, I will embark on a life-changing journey where God is calling me to serve as an intern in Estonia with Josiah Venture. Josiah Ventures vision is a movement of God among the youth of Central and Eastern Europe that finds its home in the local Church and transforms society.
Estonia, located in the Baltic region of Northern Europe next to Russia, is one of the most non-religious/atheistic nations, with less than 1% of young people having a personal relationship with the Lord. During communism, religion, especially Christianity, was outlawed.
To help reach the other 99% of young people, I will work with several local churches to help them run soccer camps to reach young men for Christ. Unfortunately, they do not have school sponsored sports to teach them how to play soccer, or how to work together, or be a team player. I will work alongside the local youth leaders helping them build relationships by coaching high school men during the day, and in the evening share Christ with them through stories from the Bible.
But, before I can go this summer, I need a team of partners to support me through prayers, encouragement and financial investments. I need a prayer team who will pray for me now, and while I am over there for protection over my body, heart, mind and will, and wisdom to lead the teens into a growing relationship with Christ. If you are willing to join my prayer team, please let me know by completing the attached response slip, and I’ll add you to my prayer updates.
In addition, I need to raise $4,800 by the end of April which will cover my airfare, living, training and travel cost. If you’d like to invest in my ministry with Josiah Venture, you may complete the response slip, enclose a check made out to Josiah Venture with “Erik Stammer intern account # 460584” in the memo line, and mail it to Josiah Venture, PO. Box 4317, Wheaton, IL 60189. Or click here to donate online. All donations are tax-deductible.
Your partnership will allow me to reach these young men for Christ, provide opportunities for me to grow in my faith as a child of God, and become a better disciple for Jesus, as well.
Thank you for your prayerful consideration,
Erik Stammer
Erik will be hosting two events to help raise funds for his journey. Lenten Dinner on Wednesday, March 21, at 5:00pm and Easter Morning Coffee on Sunday, April 1. All proceeds will support his Estonia mission trip.
