Immanuel Church has once again partnered with a non-for-profit organization called “Hands on Chicago.” The objective is to assist one family from our community who is in financial need to give them a fresh coat of paint on the exterior of their home. All the paint and brushes are being donated; we just need your help to prep and/or paint the home.
If you’ve been looking for a volunteer opportunity but are not interested in a long-term commitment…this is the perfect event to add to your summer schedule. We call this a “one and done” volunteer opportunity. Although this act of love and service requires just one short part of your weekend, you can be assured it will provide years of appreciation every time the homeowner admires their nicely painted home. No experience is required, and it’s really a lot of fun. You just need to be at least 14 years old to participate. If you’re not able to paint, you can help in other ways such as serving lunch or just being a friendly voice of encouragement to the homeowner and painting crew. Join Us!
Sign up for an hour or two or the whole day Friday and/or whole day Saturday. No time commitment is too small and all very much appreciated. We’ll be meeting at the Paint-a-thon site in Hanover Park. Steve MacKay or Ken Stryczek will send you the address.
